By creating an account on STEMBuddy LearnIT ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you are under 18 years of age, a parent or guardian must review and accept these terms on your behalf. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform.
STEMBuddy LearnIT is an online learning platform operated by STEMBuddy ("we", "us", "our"), an Australian educational services provider. The Platform provides self-paced courses in Python programming, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, and Web Design, targeted at students aged 13–18.
To access paid content, you must create an account and provide accurate information including your name and email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Students under 13 years of age are not permitted to register without verifiable parental consent. Each account is for a single individual — sharing accounts is not permitted.
Access to premium course content requires an active Annual Subscription at AUD $239.88 per year. Payment is processed securely through Stripe. Your subscription provides access to all published courses for a period of 12 months from the date of payment. Subscriptions do not auto-renew automatically — you will need to renew manually at the end of your subscription period. All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are inclusive of GST where applicable.
We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee from the date of purchase. If you are not satisfied with the Platform, contact us at support@stembuddy.com.au within 7 days of your purchase for a full refund. Refunds will not be issued after the 7-day period has elapsed. We reserve the right to refuse refunds where there is evidence of abuse of this policy.
All course content — including videos, text, code examples, quizzes, and certificates — is the intellectual property of STEMBuddy and is protected by Australian copyright law. You may access and use content for your personal, non-commercial educational purposes only. You may not reproduce, distribute, sell, or share course content without our express written permission. Your completion certificates are issued solely for personal use.
You agree not to use the Platform to: (a) engage in any unlawful activity; (b) harass, intimidate or harm other users; (c) attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform; (d) upload or transmit viruses or malicious code; (e) misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person; (f) scrape, harvest, or systematically download Platform content. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without notice or refund.
Course content is provided for educational purposes only. While we strive to keep all content accurate and up to date, we make no warranties regarding the completeness or suitability of content for any particular purpose. Completion of courses does not guarantee employment outcomes or academic credit unless expressly stated.
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, STEMBuddy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid for your current subscription period.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email. Your continued use of the Platform after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.

STEMBuddy ("we", "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
Account Information: When you register, we collect your full name and email address. This is required to create and manage your account.
Payment Information: Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. We receive confirmation of payment and the associated transaction ID from Stripe.
Learning Data: We collect data about your interactions with the Platform, including lessons completed, quiz scores, time spent on lessons, and certificates earned. This data is used to track your progress and improve the Platform.
Technical Data: We may collect your IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system for security and performance monitoring purposes.
We use your personal information to: (a) provide and manage your account and subscription; (b) track your learning progress and issue certificates; (c) send you important account communications such as payment confirmations and account activation emails; (d) improve and personalise the Platform; (e) comply with our legal obligations. We will not use your information for any purpose not listed here without your consent.
We may send you occasional emails about new courses, features, and educational content. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email. Transactional emails (account activation, payment receipts) cannot be opted out of as they are essential to the service.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information with: (a) Stripe — for payment processing; (b) Supabase — our database provider, which stores your account and learning data securely; (c) law enforcement or regulatory authorities if required by law. All third-party service providers are bound by confidentiality agreements and may only use your data to provide services to us.
Our Platform is designed for students aged 13–18. We take the privacy of minors seriously. If a user is under 13, we require verifiable parental consent before account creation. Parents may request to review, correct, or delete their child's information by contacting us at support@stembuddy.com.au. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.
Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase, with data centres located in Australia or the United States (with appropriate safeguards). We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption at rest and in transit, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no method of electronic transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes (such as payment records, which we retain for 7 years as required by Australian tax law).
Under the Australian Privacy Act, you have the right to: (a) access the personal information we hold about you; (b) request correction of inaccurate information; (c) request deletion of your account and personal data; (d) make a complaint about our handling of your data. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@stembuddy.com.au. We will respond within 30 days.
The Platform uses browser local storage (not traditional cookies) to remember your login session and preferences such as dark/light mode. This data is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to our servers. You can clear this data by clearing your browser's local storage or uninstalling the application.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes via email or a prominent notice on the Platform. The date of the most recent update is shown at the top of this document.
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au. We encourage you to contact us first at info@stembuddy.com.au so we can address your concern directly.
